The primary purpose of this position within the Mechanical Systems engineering team and assist in the specification and integration of new mechanical systems on rolling stock projects. This will include generation of technical requirement specifications, review of supplier proposals and liaison with other Engineering functions to ensure the design meets the requirements. The engineer will also be responsible for identifying and overseeing validation and verification activities to demonstrate compliance of the designs with the technical requirements.
Generate a validation and verification plan for the suppliers and vehicle builder. ESSENTIAL Significant knowledge of mechanical rolling stock systems. Experience of system specification and integration into rolling stock design. Ability to communicate engineering issues to people at all levels including non engineering personnel. Ability to successfully manage and prioritise workload in line with pre-determined deadlines. Experience and understanding of both LUL and RGS standards. DESIRABLE A degree in Mechanical engineering
